Keep the relationship in view

The math, made simple.

Length measures distance. Metric units scale by powers of ten; international inches and feet use fixed definitions.

meters = kilometers × 1,000

A measurement companion

Different systems.
The same quantity.

A conversion changes how a measurement is expressed. The distance stays the same whether you describe it in kilometers or miles. Choose the category first, then the units on either side.

  1. Enter a number, including decimals or scientific notation.
  2. Choose your starting unit and the unit you need.

A few details that matter.

Area and volume factors are squared and cubed. One foot is 0.3048 meters, but one square foot is 0.09290304 square meters. Pick the matching category to keep the dimensions right.

Temperature has a different starting point on each scale. Unitivo applies both the scale factor and the offset, and rejects temperatures below absolute zero: −273.15 °C, −459.67 °F, or 0 K.

Volume uses US liquid gallons, US liquid fluid ounces, and US customary cups (236.5882365 mL). These differ from Imperial and metric cooking measures. Mass ounces and pounds are avoirdupois.

How precise are the results?

Unitivo uses standard unit definitions and JavaScript floating-point arithmetic. Displayed results use up to 12 significant digits, with scientific notation for very large or small values. Minor rounding is possible; this tool is intended for everyday reference.

Can I enter negative numbers?

Yes. Signed values are accepted in all categories, which can be useful for differences and changes. Temperature inputs must stay at or above absolute zero. Empty entries and values too large to calculate are flagged.

Why does temperature use a different formula?

Celsius and Fahrenheit differ in both degree size and zero point. Convert Celsius to Fahrenheit with °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. Kelvin shares the Celsius degree size, so K = °C + 273.15.

Are my measurements saved or sent anywhere?

No. Calculations run locally in this page. Unitivo does not save your inputs, use cookies, or send measurement values to a server. Copying uses your clipboard only when you press the copy button.
